Screening of African swine plague in Datong, Shanxi Province

On October 17,the Information Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced that Datong,Shanxi Province,was screening the African swine plague of pigs born.

At 12:00 on October 17,the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs received a report from the China Center for Animal Disease Prevention and Control,which confirmed that a farmer in Zuoyun County County,Datong City,Shanxi Province had found out the African pig plague after being diagnosed by the China Center for Animal Health and Epidemiology(the National Center for Foreign Animal Disease Research).The farmer has 15 live pigs on hand,with 7 suffering from illness and 4 deaths.

After the outbreak of the epidemic,the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs immediately dispatched a supervisory team to the local area.The local emergency response mechanism has been activated as required,and measures such as blockade,culling,harmless treatment,and disinfection have been taken to treat all dead and slaughtered pigs without harm.At the same time,it is prohibited for all live pigs and their products to be transferred out of the lockdown area,and for live pigs to be transported into the lockdown area.At present,the above-mentioned epidemic has been effectively addressed.
