[pharmacological effects] calcium has a wide range of physiological and pharmacological effects in animals
(1) Promote the normal development of bones and teeth, and maintain the normal structure and function of bones.
(2) Maintain the normal excitability of nerve fibers and muscles, and participate in the normal release of neurotransmitters.
(3) It can resist the central inhibition of magnesium ion and neuromuscular excitation conduction block.
(4) Reduce the permeability of capillary membrane.
(5) Promote coagulation, etc.
The demand for calcium and phosphorus of growing animals is greater than that of adult animals, and the demand for calcium and phosphorus of lactating animals is higher than that of growing animals. Acute or chronic calcium deficiency may occur when the calcium intake of animals is insufficient. The main chronic symptoms were osteomalacia and rickets. Incomplete bone calcification can lead to abnormal cartilage hyperplasia, degeneration, bone deformity, joint stiffness and enlargement, dyskinesia, neuromuscular dysfunction, weight loss, etc. Acute calcium deficiency is mainly related to neuromuscular and cardiovascular dysfunction, such as postpartum paralysis in lactating cows, and delivery tic syndrome and hypomagnesemia in other livestock.
The calcium content of this product is lower than that of calcium chloride, with less irritation to tissues, and the injection is safer than that of calcium chloride.
[drug interactions]
(1) Animals treated with digitalis were prone to arrhythmia after intravenous calcium injection.
(2) Thiazide diuretics combined with large doses of calcium may cause hypercalcemia.
(3) Taking calcium and magnesium supplements at the same time may increase the possibility of arrhythmia.
[function and use] calcium supplement. For calcium deficiency and allergic diseases, it can also relieve the central inhibition caused by magnesium ion poisoning.
[usage and dosage] intravenous injection: one dose, 200~600ml for horses and cattle; Sheep and pigs 50-150ml; Dog 5~20ml.
[adverse reaction] animals with heart or kidney disease may have hypercalcemia.
[precautions] the injection of this product should be slow and forbidden during the application of cardiac glycoside. Do not leak the injection out of the blood vessel, otherwise it will cause pain and tissue necrosis.
