[pharmacological action]
Pharmacodynamics sodium salicylate injection is an antipyretic analgesic and anti-inflammatory drug. Its analgesic effect is weaker than aspirin, phenacetin and aminopyrine. It is mainly used as an anti rheumatic drug in clinic. For rheumatoid arthritis, joint pain was significantly reduced, swelling subsided and rheumatic fever subsided after several hours of medication. In addition, this product has the effect of promoting uric acid excretion, and can be used for gout.
The pharmacokinetic bioavailability varied greatly among species and genera. Pigs and dogs had the best absorption, horses were poor, and goats had little absorption. Plasma half-life: 1 hour for horse, 5.9 hours for pig, 8.6 hours for dog and 0.78 hours for goat. The plasma protein binding rates were 52% -57% for horses, 64% -72% for pigs, 58% -63% for goats, 53% -70% for dogs, and 54% -64% for cats. Sodium salicylate can be distributed in various tissues and penetrate into the articular cavity, cerebrospinal fluid and milk, and also easily pass through the placental barrier. It is mainly metabolized in the liver, and its metabolite is salicyluric acid, which is excreted by urine together with some technical drugs. The excretion rate is affected by the pH of urine. The excretion rate of alkaline urine is accelerated, while that of acidic urine is the opposite.
[drug interactions]
(1) Sodium salicylate can reduce the activity of prothrombin in blood, so it cannot be combined with anticoagulants.
(2) Oral administration together with sodium bicarbonate can reduce the absorption of this product and accelerate the excretion of this product.

[usage and dosage] intravenous injection: one dose, 100-300ml for horses and cattle; Sheep and pigs 20~50ml; Dog 1-5ml.
[adverse reactions]
(1) Long term high-dose application can cause deafness, nephritis, etc.
(2) Bleeding tendency due to inhibition of prothrombin synthesis.
[precautions]
(1) This product is only for intravenous injection and cannot leak out of blood vessels.
(2) Vomiting, abdominal pain and other symptoms of poisoning in pigs can be rescued with sodium bicarbonate.
(3) Animals with bleeding tendency, nephritis and acidosis are forbidden.
