Detailed Description
[main component] gentamicin sulfate
[properties] this product is colorless to yellowish or yellowish green clear liquid.
[pharmacological action]
Pharmacodynamics gentamicin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic, which has antibacterial effect on a variety of Gram-negative bacteria (such as Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, proteus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pasteurella, Salmonella, etc.) and Staphylococcus aureus (including β - lactamase producing strains). Most cocci (Streptococcus pyogenes, pneumococcus, Streptococcus faecalis, etc.), anaerobic bacteria (Bacteroides or Clostridium), Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Rickettsia and fungi are resistant to this product.
The pharmacokinetics was rapid and complete after intramuscular injection. The peak plasma concentration was reached within 0.5-1 hour. The bioavailability of subcutaneous or intramuscular injection was more than 90%. It is mainly excreted through glomerular filtration, accounting for 40% -80% of the dosage. The elimination half-life after intramuscular injection was 1.8-3.3 hours for horses, 2.2-2.7 hours for calves, 0.5-1.5 hours for dogs and cats, 1 hour for cows and pigs, 1-2 hours for rabbits, and 2.3-3.2 hours for sheep, buffalo, cattle and dairy goats.
[drug interactions]
(1) The combination of gentamicin with tetracycline and erythromycin may have antagonistic effect.
(2) Combined with cephalosporin, dextran, powerful diuretics (such as furosemide), erythromycin, etc., it can enhance the ototoxicity of this product.
(3) Skeletal muscle relaxants (such as succinylcholine chloride, etc.) or drugs with such effects can enhance the neuromuscular blocking effect of this product.
[function and application] aminoglycoside antibiotics. For gram negative and positive bacterial infections.
[usage and dosage] intramuscular injection: one dose, 0.1-0.2ml per 1kg body weight of livestock; Dog and cat 0.15~0.25ml. Twice a day for 2-3 consecutive days.
[adverse reactions]
(1) Ototoxicity. It often causes vestibular damage, which can be aggravated with the accumulation of continuously administered drugs in a dose-dependent manner.
(2) Allergic reactions were occasionally seen. Cats are more sensitive, which can cause nausea, vomiting, salivation and ataxia.
(3) High dose can cause neuromuscular conduction block. Accidental death often occurs when penicillin is used to prevent infection after general anesthesia in dogs and cats.
(4) Can cause reversible nephrotoxicity.
[precautions]
(1) Gentamicin can be combined with β - lactam antibiotics in the treatment of severe infection, but there is incompatibility when mixed in vitro.
(2) This product has synergistic effect on Streptococcus when combined with penicillin.
(3) Combined with cephalosporin may increase nephrotoxicity.
[drug withdrawal period] 40 days for pigs, cattle and sheep.
